Russia Interior Ministry issued an arrest warrant for Lindsey Graham for declaring “Russians dying” was “the best money we’ve ever spent” during his meeting with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
In an edited video, Graham noted that “the Russians are dying” and described the U.S. military assistance to Ukraine as “the best money we’ve ever spent.”
Although Graham appeared to have made the remarks throughout different parts of the conversation, the video by Ukraine’s presidential office put them next to each other, Breitbart noted.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, “It’s hard to imagine a greater shame for the country than having such senators,” reffeing to Lindsey Graham over his Russia and Ukraine remarks.
Russia’s top criminal investigation agency, The Investigative Committee, has opened a criminal inquiry against Graham.
The Interior Ministry later issued a warrant for Graham’s arrest.
Below is part of the conversation reported on Sunday:
“Free or die,” said Zelensky. “Now you are free, and we will be.”
“And the Russians are dying,” replied Lindsey Graham before the video cut to him saying, “The best money we’ve ever spent.”
“Thank you so much,” said the Ukrainian president.
During the conversation, Graham also warned that failure by the U.S. to send enough money to Ukraine would send a signal to China that they could invade Ukraine.
“The F-16 will matter. It is not a magic weapon but combined with other weapons, it will be decisive,” said Graham.
“My message to the Biden administration is, “I appreciate what you have done; you need to do more.” I am convinced that there will be bipartisan support to provide more weapons that can turn the tide of battle in the upcoming offensive,” he said.
