MSNBC anchor Nicolle Wallace slammed former special counsel John Durham calling him “a nightmare for the rule of law.”
During her show “Deadline,” Wallace also took aim at former Attorney General Bill Barr and former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe before attempting to discredit Durham.
“Durham never had anything except a tip to open an investigation into Donald Trump. And that was something he couldn’t even answer for today,” Wallace said
She continued:
“This sliding doors experience of watching Durham tell us about something that he did for the last four years and think about Trump’s recent interviews and worry about what he would do with another four years,” she said.
“Because all of these people, Bill Barr, Mr. Durham, the guy that was over at Intel, Ratcliffe, they are a nightmare for the rule of law,” Wallace added.
“They make our country look silly. They make people around the world question our commitment to democracy, and that is all justified,” she continued.
“But the people he would bring in next make those people look Churchillian.”
Former CIA Director John Brennan said:
“I think Donald Trump has said quite clearly he’s going to enact revenge if re-elected against the Biden people.”
“I think it demonstrates the lengths to which they’re willing to go. Bill Barr just recently found the truth, and now he’s criticizing Donald Trump. But if Donald Trump were to be re-elected, God forbid what he would do,” Brennan added.
During Durham’s testimony at the House Judiciary Committee, he concluded the Department of Justice had no evidence to justify launching their collusion investigation, which he said should never have happened in the first place.
Durham also revealed how a number of FBI agents “apologized” to him for the 2016 Russia hoax and how the investigation “was undertaken” at the bureau at the expense of the American people.
During his explosive testimony before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, Durham told Congress that active and retired agents apologized for how the bureau’s politicized investigation was conducted into then-President Donald Trump.
“I have had any number of FBI agents who I’ve worked with over the years — some of them are retired, some of them are still in place — who’ve come to me and apologized for the manner in which that investigation was undertaken,” Durham said.
