Michelle Obama’s office has issued a statement addressing rumors the former First Lady will replace Joe Biden as the Democrat Party’s presidential nominee.
In a statement to NBC News, Obama’s office said:
“As former First Lady Michelle Obama has expressed several times over the years, she will not be running for president.”
Obama communications director, Crystal Carson, stated:
“Mrs. Obama supports President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ re-election campaign.”
The outlet noted that Michelle Obama plans to help Biden get reelected, although she will play a more limited role than in 2020.

While Michelle Obama recently said she has no desire to run for president, she has been increasing in the news.
Last month, the former First Lady Obama said she was scared about what would happen in the 2024 presidential election, admitting it would keep her up at night.
“I am terrified about what could possibly happen,” Obama said.
“Because our leaders matter. Who we select, who speaks for us, who holds that bully pulpit — it affects us in ways that sometimes, I think, people take for granted,” she added.
“The fact that people think that: ‘Government, does it really even do anything?'” Obama, 59, continued.
Watch
As we reported earlier this month, Michelle Obama was the preferred choice among Democrats to replace Joe Biden if he withdraws from the 2024 presidential race.
Obama came out on top of other high-profile possible replacements, including Gavin Newsom, Kamala Harris, and Hillary Clinton.
She already gained support from 20% of Democrats, who now view her as the preferable alternative to Biden.
According to the Washington Examiner, Democrats “like the idea of replacing Biden and approve of finding another candidate to replace the president before the election in November.”
According to Rasmussen Reports, almost half of likely U.S. voters believe it’s plausible for Democrats to replace Biden, and a large portion of Republican respondents also share this view.
Meanwhile, more bets are being placed on Obama winning the presidency than Joe Biden, despite her not announcing she is even running.
According to GB News, Betfair exchange has seen 10.9 percent of bets in 2024 placed on Obama as the winner.
Meanwhile, Biden only garnered 10.6 percent to become president.
Donald Trump’s odds have shortened to 6/5 (45% chance), making him the favorite, While Biden is 2/1 (33% chance).
