Republican Senator Ted Cruz claimed again that Democrats will ‘parachute in’ Michelle Obama as their White House nominee at next summer’s convention in 2024.
Appearing on Fox & Friends on Monday, co-host Brian Kilmeade asked Cruz about Obama adviser David Axelrod’s suggestion that Biden should ‘ponder’ dropping out.
In a post to X, Axelrod pointed to The New York Times and Siena College polls, which showed Biden trailing former President Donald Trump in five of the six pivotal swing states.
It's very late to change horses; a lot will happen in the next year that no one can predict & Biden's team says his resolve to run is firm.

Cruz said he thought Axelrod’s push was ‘very serious.’
“It’s been my view for a long time that Barack Obama has been the person pulling the strings behind Joe Biden. Joe Biden is clearly not up to it,” Cruz said.
“I think Obama is making the decision. And Axelrod is Obama’s right hand,” Cruz added.
Axelrod, the chief strategist for Obama’s winning 2008 and 2012 campaigns, said Trump was a “dangerous, unhinged demagogue whose brazen disdain for the rules, norms, laws and institutions or democracy should be disqualifying.”
“But the stakes of miscalculation here are too dramatic to ignore,” Axelrod warned.
“Only Joe Biden can make this decision.”
“If he continues to run, he will be the nominee of the Democratic Party,” he added.
“What he needs to decide is whether that is wise; whether it’s in HIS best interest or the country’s?’ Axelrod said.
He also pointed to the poll numbers, saying they “will send tremors of doubt” through the Democratic Party.
Cruz echoed this, saying, “We have seen for the last six months more and more warning signs that the Democrats are getting scared.”
“I said on my podcast three months ago, Verdict with Ted Cruz, I predicted there was a very real chance that the Democrats would jettison Joe Biden and parachute in Michelle Obama and that they’d do it at the convention next summer,” Cruz said.
“I think the chances of that are rising every day.”
While Michelle Obama has repeatedly denied she would consider running for president in 2024, Cruz argued she’s the only one who could easily take Biden’s place.
“The reason I say Michelle Obama is, if Biden gets out of the way next is Kamala Harris and she’s a very flawed candidate,” Cruz said.
“They know that. In the Democrat Party, they can’t push Kamala Harris aside and replace her with a white guy.”
“They can’t drop Gavin Newsom in over an African-American woman and not have their party lose its mind,” he continued.
Earlier this year, Obama insider and author and biographer Joel Gilbert also said Michelle Obama is preparing to enter the 2024 race.
Gilbert, who wrote the 2022 book “Michelle Obama 2024: Her Real Life Story and Plan for Power,” recently appeared on “Real America’s Voice,’ revealing why he thinks Barack Obama could soon be a “first gentleman.”
I think there’s something going on in Obama world,” Gilbert said.
“Michelle has been pretty much copying Barack Obama’s path to the White House,” Gilbert said.
