89-year-old Democrat Senator Diane Feinstein has appeared to have suffered a blackout, and does not remember that she has been absent from the Senate for ten weeks, according to a report in the LA Times.
Feinstein fell ill with shingles for over two months, resulting in her missing 93 votes in the Senate.
Her absence ignited calls for her to step down, even by those in her own party.
However, when a reporter asked Feinstein how other Senators had reacted to her return to the capitol, she had no idea she had been away.
“I haven’t been gone. You should … I haven’t been gone. I’ve been working,” Feinstein asserted.
“You’ve been working from home, is what you’re saying?” the reporter pressed.
“No, I’ve been here. I’ve been voting,” a confused Feinstein replied.
“Please, either know or don’t know,” Feinstein snapped before abruptly ending the exchange.
It’s obvious Feinstein suffered a blackout and doesn’t remember her absense from the Senate.
As The Daily Fetched reported last week, Feinstein was seen being wheeled back into the U.S Capitol building while asking, “Where am I going?”
“Where am I going?” she could be heard asking as she slowly settled into the wheelchair. Her hand was visibly trembling as she took her seat.
“I’ve got something in my eye,” she said, as her eye appeared bloodshot.
According to Feinstein’s office, the aging Senator has been experiencing vision and balance impairments and has complained about pain in her eyes and legs.
Feinstein is clearly not fit for doing anything other than being in a nursing home, let alone fit for office.
