Senator Ted Cruz of Texas has urged House Republicans to begin impeachment proceedings against Joe Biden in the light of the most recent revelations regarding the president’s involvement in his son, Hunter Biden’s corrupt influence peddling scheme.
The remarks Ted Cruz made come amid growing questions about why House Speaker McCarthy has yet to be more aggressive on this issue involving Joe Biden, and why impeachment is taking so long.
It’s also worth noting that President Donald Trump was impeached over a phone call.
So the question remains, how much evidence does the GOP need to impeach Joe Biden?
FOX News reports:
Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz is urging the House to look into impeaching President Biden after an IRS whistleblower on the Hunter Biden probe told Congress that the president’s son invoked his father to pressure a Chinese business partner through WhatsApp and claimed the elder Biden was in the room while he was making deals.
Asked at what point the investigation and problems pertaining to Hunter Biden turn into an issue for the president, which could lead to impeachment efforts by Republicans, Cruz said: “It is right now.”
“Look, this WhatsApp is direct evidence of Joe Biden abusing his government power to enrich his son and, assuming 10% for the big guy, to enrich himself,” Cruz said.
“Remember, this WhatsApp says, ‘We want to know.’ This is not just me, Hunter, just mooching off my dad,” he added.
“Of course, the House needs to investigate it, but the stunning thing is what the IRS whistleblower says is [Department of Justice], Merrick Garland prevented an investigation even into this message.”
According to RedState, the is a shifting narrative from the Biden White House:
“The Biden team isn’t handling things well—they’re doing all they can to scramble as things start to fall apart, and they’re not doing a particularly good job of it.
Hunter’s attorney tried to use his addiction to excuse for what Hunter Biden said in the WhatsApp message, suggesting that it didn’t pertain to Joe Biden. Then, White House Counsel spokesperson Ian Sams gave some bad spin: “As we have said many times before, the President was not in business with his son.”
Except that’s not what Biden or his spokespeople have said. What Biden said was that he’s never talked with his son about his business dealings or his overseas business deals. The fact that they are now trying to shift the goalposts means they recognize that there’s a problem.”
As The Daily Fetched reported over the weekend, the 2020 Senate report revealed that bank accounts linked to Hunter Biden received $5.1 million from Chinese business partner Henry Zhao within ten days of the newly surfaced text where Hunter demanded payment using his father “sat next to him” to strengthen the threat.
As Breitbart notes, Henry Zhao, a key figure in forming a Chinese investment fund, had deep ties to Chinese intelligence.
Henry Zhao worked with Chinese energy conglomerate CEFC Energy in 2017, also linked to Chinese military intelligence.
The newly released screen capture of Hunter Biden’s text message to Chinese business partner Henry Zhao shows the president’s son pressuring Zhao for payment using his father’s influence, who was “sitting” in the room.
The text message reads:
“I am sitting here with my father, and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled. Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight. And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction. I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father.”
