Republican Senator Rand Paul has escalated his previous criminal referral Anthony Fauci after the Biden DOJ failed to take any action.
Paul tweeted Tuesday: “Because of the DOJ’s inaction regarding Fauci’s lies to Congress, I’ve now sent a criminal referral to D.C. U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves. I’m demanding an investigation.”
In the letter on the criminal referral, Paul writes that “Fauci testified that ‘the NIH has not ever and does not now fund gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology.’ In a subsequent hearing, I warned Dr. Fauci of the criminal implications of lying to Congress and offered him an opportunity to recant his previous statements.”
The Senator adds:
“In response, Dr. Fauci stated that he had ‘never lied before the Congress’ and ‘d[id] not retract that statement.’ Dr. Fauci’s testimony is inconsistent with facts that have since come to light.”
The letter continues:
“Before Congress, Dr. Fauci denied funding gain-of-function research. To the press, he claims to have a dispassionate view on the lab leak hypothesis, and in private, he acknowledges gain-of-function research at WIV to his colleagues. His own colleagues have acknowledged Dr. Fauci’s inconsistency.”
“A congressional hearing, however, is not the place for a public servant to play political games – especially when the health and well-being of American citizens is on the line,” Paul further urges.
Paul also sent another tweet accusing Merrick Garland of not wanting to do his job:
As we reported Monday, Paul pointed to an email from February 2020 where Fauci detailed a call with British medical researcher and then-director of the Wellcome Trust, Jeremy Farrar.
Paul forwarded copies of the email exchanges showing Fauci confirming that he knew “scientists in Wuhan University are known to have been working on gain-of-function experiments.”
“This directly contradicts everything he said in the committee hearing to me, denying absolutely that they funded any gain of function, and it’s absolutely a lie. That’s why I sent an official criminal referral to the DOJ,” Paul tweeted.
On Monday, Paul told Fox News, “There’s probably never been a government official caught more red-handed, lying to us,” adding, “He has proved the lie in his own words.”
Paul also shared a link to an article in the Free Press earlier this week, outlining how Fauci is “guilty as charged.”

“Escalate” it all you like Rand, this corrupt DOJ will NEVER do anything that will negatively impact its own.

let me know how that works out. The Republicans are nothing more than controlled opposition. They have no political power to do much of anything other than create pitches for their own re-election campaigns. If they had the actual power to do anything, they would have done it already. They are impotent
I am continually infuriated at the level of corruption in our law enforcement, specifically the DOJ on the federal level. This is amazing since I have spent a career in federal law enforcement myself. There are not enough people going to prison for violations of the Constitution. Make it personal or these criminals will continue to commit these crimes against the people.
The DOJ doesn’t have time or personnel for investigating Fauci. All of their resources are devoted to investigating ways to investigate Trump and anyone they can associate with him.
Fauxi’s golden years should be a living h**l. He thought he could retire and flee the mess he created, and the millions he helped murder, and collect his multi-million $ government retirement. He should be living like he’s in the witness protection program.
