The Miss Italy pageant has banned transgender contestants in a brave move declaring anyone competing “must be a woman from birth.”
The Miss Italy ban on transgender contestants will likely send the liberal left into a meltdown.
The news came shortly after the Miss Netherlands competition crowned a transgender biological male as their winner earlier this month.
Miss Italy Official Patron Patrizia Mirigliani told Radio Cusano, “Lately, beauty contests have been trying to make the news by also using strategies that I think are a bit absurd.”
“Since it was born, my competition has foreseen in its regulation the clarification according to which one must be a woman from birth.”
“Probably because, even then, it was foreseen that beauty could undergo modifications, or that women could undergo modifications, or that men could become women,” Mirigliani added.
As The Daily Fetched reported earlier this month, Rikkie Valerie Kolle, 22, won the Miss Netherlands beauty pageant, marking the first time a transgender-identifying has done so.
Kolle was crowned by predecessor Ona Moody and USA’s reigning Miss Universe R’Bonney Gabriel.
Kolle will now become the second transgender person to compete in Miss Universe, after Angela Ponce from Spain in 2018.
Daniela Arroyo González, a transgender biological male, was chosen to compete in the Puerto Rico competition earlier this year.
Last year, we saw the first trans winner of the Miss Greater Derry beauty pageant, a news story the woke liberal media celebrated as some “milestone” of inclusivity.
According to a translation, Kolle said in a recent Instagram post:
“As a woman, I often doubted to make certain choices because I already thought further than just looking nice. We live in one community where everyone has an opinion and is happy to share it, positive or negative.”
“Today, I say no to that! I’m sitting here as a proud woman in lingerie, and what people think of that is not what moves me forward; the best choice you can make is to embrace yourself and let them talk. Feel confident and especially feel yourself, rock that body and feel safe.”
