Former Vice President Mike Pence suggested Donald Trump would not be able to govern as a conservative if he became president because he would end the war in Ukraine.
Pence told CNN that by ending the war between Russia and Ukraine, Trump would “embrace the politics of appeasement on the world stage [and] walking away from our role as leader of the free world.”
Pence appears to believe the only conservative position is to continue the war in Ukraine.
Perhaps that’s why nobody is bothered that Pence is running for the presidency.
“Look, the only way this war would end in a day, as my former running mate says, is if you let Vladimir Putin have what he wants, which, frankly, other candidates for the Republican nomination are advocating as well,” Pence said.
Earlier this week, Pence warned that American troops will be forced to fight Russia if it succeeds in its efforts to conquer Ukraine and win the war.
“I’m convinced that if the Ukrainian military doesn’t stop and repel that Russian invasion, it’s not going to be too long before that Russian army crosses a border that our men and women in uniform are going to have to go and fight under our NATO Treaty,” Pence said.
Trump said he would end the Ukrainian war within just 24 hours, a claim which appeared to trigger not only Pence but RINO Nikki Haley.
“I think it’s ridiculous. He knows that he can’t end the war in a day. Everybody else knows he can’t end the war in a day,” Haley said.
“He says these crazy things. It’s not true,” Haley added.
Meanwhile, GOP Senator Lindsey Graham reiterated his support for Ukraine: “The Ukrainians will be successful if we and other allies continue our support.”
“The outcome of this is enormously important to our national security because China and many others are watching closely,” he added.
