Podcast host Megyn Kelly ripped the leftist media for calling her “transphobic” after she criticized Bud Light’s lax response to its unprecedented backlash in the wake of its partnership with transgender male activist Dylan Mulvaney.
Kelly shared an article by leftists rag The Wrap, entitled, “Megyn Kelly Goes On Transphobic Tirade Over Dylan Mulvaney.”
“Call me whatever names you want. I am speaking the truth. And neither I nor the millions of other women (and men) who believe in biology/reality/fairness will be dissuaded by your attempts to marginalize us with words like ‘transphobic,'” Kelly tweeted.
The Wrap’s Benjamin Lindsay characterized “transphobic” as ‘misgendering’ Mulvaney by referring to him as reflecting his biological gender.
Lindsay referred to Kelly’s statement she made in an interview with The Daily Wire’s Michael Knowles.
“This person who’s on their beer can has made a mockery of womanhood and girlhood for literally the past year and has been celebrated by far-lefties all across the country,” Kelly said.
She added, “But to see what’s supposed to be a mainstream beer company do it was a bridge too far. That’s why they’re having the reaction they are,” Kelly added.
But the Wrap’s writer objected to Kelly’s criticism of Anheuser-Busch’s “embrace of wokeness” and her emphasis of the beer company’s lackluster backtrack from its Mulvaney partnership which she called a “pathetic, rambling, empty-air sandwich of — I can’t even call it an apology — an attempt to dissuade people from hating his company and him. It was an utter fail.”
Last week, Bud Light tested the water by sending out a tweet which read, “TGIF?”
The tweet drew an avalanche of negative comments as Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth said, “We never intended to be part of a discussion that divides people.”
Last week, Anheuser-Busch-owned Budweiser released a heavily patriotic ad on social media Friday in a desperate attempt to save its brand.
