House Judiciary Committee Jim Jordan warned the FBI is actively monitoring pro-life Catholics after Joe Biden declared “MAGA Republicans” a “threat to democracy,” and is set to become more expansive.
Jordan highlighted a report his panel released this week on the FBI’s plan to monitor Catholics for domestic terrorism.
The FBI interviewed both a priest and choir director despite showing “no legitimate basis” for the memorandum, according to the House Government Weaponization Committee.
During an appearance on “Hannity,” Jordan said FBI officials claimed the issue only occurred in Richmond but since found the “attack on pro-life Catholics” was more expansive.
FBI Director Christopher Wray has testified his office ordered its immediate recission and withdrawal after the headquarters learned of the memo.
However, Jordan said the issue itself and its reported expanding net is believable and highlighted how the FBI raided the home of Kintnersville, Pennsylvania, pro-life activist Mark Houck and arrested him in front of his family on a case relating to behavior outside a Philadelphia abortion clinic., Fox News reported.
“When that [federal] case goes to court, Mark Houck wins,” Jordan said.
“Which is – that’s how ridiculous this all is. So that’s what our report spells out.”
Jordan noted Houck had offered to turn himself in but was still met with the full force of the bureau.
“That is not how you’re supposed to operate in this great country.”
He also referenced Joe Biden’s speech, where he claimed Trump-supporting Republicans “represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic.”
“Remember when Joe Biden stood in front of Independence Hall and talked about how one-half of the country is fascist?” Jordan asked.
“It’s this whole mindset. If you’re pro-life, if you’re a traditional Catholic, somehow you’re radical, somehow you’re an extremist.”
“This is part of the Justice Department that said, if you’re a mom and dad going to a school board meeting, you’re an extremist as well… this is what’s so scary.”
The Daily Fetched reported in May that Churchgoers said suspicious activity as FBI agents infiltrated Catholic churches across the country to spy on Americans practicing their Christian faith, who are now deemed “extremists.”
We also reported earlier this year that the FBI has been targeting traditional Catholic churches because of supposed “threats of extremism.”
But now they beau are infiltrating Catholic parishes.
The Daily Signal reported:
“Two parishioners at a Latin Mass Catholic church in rural Northern Virginia say they witnessed suspicious activity from what looked like FBI vehicles in February, a month after the FBI’s Richmond office published a now-rescinded internal memo focused on “radical-traditional Catholics.”
The FBI’s Washington, D.C., office, which monitors the church’s area, denied any knowledge of such activity in a statement to The Daily Signal.
The two witnesses told The Daily Signal that they saw two cars approach the church, drive through the parking lot as if they were writing down license plate numbers, and then leave, on two separate instances outside Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel in Linden, Virginia, some 63 miles west of Washington, D.C., between Feb. 12 and Feb. 26. (The memo had been published on Jan. 23 and rescinded on Feb. 9.)”
