Twice failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton once again demonstrated how far detached she is from reality after giving a speech on the so-called “war on truth” during the second day of the Clinton Global Initiative Meeting in New York City.
Clinton, who is arguably the least self-aware person on planet Earth, spoke at one of the panels held at the two-day event, dubbed “Journalism on the Frontlines: How Protecting Freedom of the Press Supports All Human Rights.”
Not long after the panelists held their roundtable, Hillary Clinton delivered her deluded speech on the topic of “truth,” discussing the reality of threats reporters face worldwide.
In what appears to be an alternate reality, Clinton, who is known for silencing reporters in various, some of which we won’t discuss here, noted how we have a “duty” to defend the media from attacks on their right to ask questions.
Clinton attempted to portray herself as some Maverik defender of journalists and the First Amendment, speaking on how she saw dangers the press faced during her time as Secretary of State.
Clinton failed to note that journalists are attacked for saying things that do not fit into the left-wing narrative.
She also could not resist ranting about how journalists faced attacks from people who she claimed wanted to create “alternative facts to support false narratives.”
By “alternative facts,” Clinton means any media reports that she or the left-wing Democrats do not like, primarily likely ones that have exposed her corruption.
“We have a very real war on truth, facts, and reason,” Clinton declared, as she called on people to do their “duty” in defending “free and honest journalism, to help keep all of us informed, to hold institutions to account.”
She went on to say, “You can’t have a democracy if you don’t have people reporting on what leaders are doing.”
Watch below (the full speech starts at around the 1:04 hour mark):
Considering everything Clinton has done to undermine the institution of journalism during her years in politics is astounding, and more so given that she now claims to be an advocate of “freedom of the press.”
The irony that Clinton declared herself as some sort of “truth warrior” wasn’t lost on some on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“This is rich coming from the woman whose campaign paid for the Steele dossier to be disseminated…” another astute Twitter user pointed out.
There was also a reminder that Hillary Clinton kept reporters behind a rope line like cattle during her 2016 presidential campaign.
Clinton has been known to keep lists of reporters and grade them on who was the most friendly and the ones who they felt would give them the most favorable coverage.
Such a strategy has nothing to do with freedom of the press, and if Clinton claims she is an advocate of the truth, then people should remind her of her dark past.
We should also not take for granted the abundance of Clinton’s hypocrisy, most recently demonstrated when she trashed President Donald Trump for lawfully storing presidential records at his Mar-a-Lago residence following his Federal indictment.
Hillary, who used a private email system to conduct official government business, was the last person who should have criticized Trump for storing classified documents.
Judicial Watch revealed that many of Clinton’s emails contained classified material, including the name of a clandestine CIA agent.
She transmitted classified material over a private server and attempted to cover up her tracks by destroying emails and BlackBerrys that were under subpoena.
Clinton used BleachBit, an expensive process, to destroy 33,000 emails, and destroyed several BlackBerrys with a hammer.
She was all hands on deck to make sure Espionage Act charges would not be brought against her, even though a Chinese company described as a front for Chinese Intel managed to access ger
classified emails while she was the head of the Department of State.
Congressman Louie Gohmert, a House Judiciary Committee member, revealed in a 2018 hearing that the Intelligence Community Inspector General (ICIG) found that nearly all of Hillary Clinton’s 30,000 emails were sent to a foreign entity.
We’ll say it again: when it comes to defending the truth, Clinton should keep her mouth shut.
