Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) joined the leftist meltdown over losing their beloved blue check marks on Twitter, warning that people won’t know which reporter or news outlet to believe when a natural disaster hits.
“Journalist” Aaron Rupar called for those paying for a blue check to be blocked.
Meanwhile, Keith Olbermann made an embarrassing attempt at using an arrow to count as a blue check.
At the same time, Alyssa Milano had a meltdown calling for Musk to be used for defamation, identity theft, or fraud.
Then AOC topped off the leftist meltdown, warning of the dire consequences of Musk’s actions of removing the blue check marks.
“Jokes aside, this is setting the stage for major potential harm when a natural disaster hits and no one knows what agencies, reporters, or outlets are real,” AOC claimed.
“Not long ago we had major flash floods. We had to mobilize trusted info fast to save lives. Today just made that harder,” AOC added.
AOC cited a fake account impersonating the City of New York’s Twitter account to support her argument.
However, the problem with the Radical Democrat’s argument is that official government accounts still retain their labels.
Even Twitter Community Notes posted on her tweet, highlighting her claim was not accurate.
Twitter explained that both she and the @NYC.gov account will still have their labels.

So despite AOC’s misinformed rant, people can still determine which governmental agencies are real.
So if a natural disaster does hit, it may be best to look for a government account for confirmation.
But in the case of AOC’s account, it’s probably best you avoid it, given the amount of disinformation she regularly spews out.
And regarding media outlets losing blue check marks and being slapped with Government funded labels, that can only be a good thing.
We can’t believe the media anymore.
