Tucker Carlson reacted to the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision to disqualify Trump from the 2024 ballot this week, warning of the ramifications of such a move.
The 14th Amendment was used in the legal challenge to block the former president from the ballot.
According to legal theories based on Section 3 of the US Constitution’s 14th Amendment, Trump may be disqualified from public office because he supposedly “engaged in insurrection or rebellion against” the US.
However, Trump has not been charged with engaging in insurrection in the US.
It will be up to the US Supreme Court to decide if the Colorado Supreme Court’s ruling will stand.
Tucker said the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision to bar Trump from the ballot is the “actual “end of democracy.”
January 6 “was not a Trump-led insurrection,” Tucker said.
“The crowd had no guns. They had no plan to overthrow the government. Nothing like that has ever emerged.”
Tucker continued:
“And above all, Trump was not leading it. He was miles away at the White House at the time where he issued a public statement calling for calm and non-violence, so why were the people on television telling us that Trump led an insurrection?”
Tucker noted how the media repeatedly parroted the false claim that Trump led an insurrection, which gave far-left judges and justices talking points while working to bar Trump from office.

CNN analyst and New York Times correspondent Maggie Haberman said the Trump camp views the recent ballot ban in Colorado as “a gift” to former President Donald Trump ahead of the 2024 election.
The Daily Fetched reported:
With host Kaitlan Collins, CNN asked Habberman about the ruling to disqualify Trump, to which the NYT correspondent claimed he is an ineligible presidential candidate because of the 14th Amendment’s “insurrectionist ban.”
Haberman weighed in on the Trump ballot ban verdict, admitting that Trump’s advisers see the ruling as a “gift” that could help propel him to the White House.
Collins asked Haberman:
“Maggie, I noted Trump was just on stage, in Waterloo. He did not mention this decision, on stage, there. But what are you hearing, from Trump insiders, about the reaction, to the ruling, tonight.”
Habberman responded:
“They generally see it, Kaitlan, as a gift. I mean, Trump is not happy about any of these cases, particularly cases that tie him, to a charge of insurrection. But they see the way that they anticipate this will play out.”
