Former Trump administration National Security Advisor John Bolton told CNN he is still considering entering the Republican presidential primary and running for president.
Yes, really.
CNN Host Abby Phillip asked Bolton, “Have you ruled out running for president?”
Bolton said:
“No, I haven’t. Certainly, the field is getting filled up. I have a different view of how this will play out over the next several months.”
“I think we’re right now in a very interesting two-man race. Trump versus DeSantis. I think Trump over the next 90 days, let’s say, will unload on DeSantis, and DeSantis will have to answer him back,” Bolton said.
“I think that’s what a lot of the other candidates are waiting to see. Who survives that encounter? Maybe one does, maybe the other, maybe both are wounded. I think Chris Christie’s entry into the race is interesting,” he added.
“He will be going directly after Trump. And every time he makes a criticism of Trump, the news media will ask Ron DeSantis what he thinks of it,” Bolton continued.
“So I think for DeSantis to avoid simply commenting for the next six months on what Chris Christie is doing.”
“He has to have his own unique plan of action to deal with Trump and to try to take him out politically as soon as he can.”

Last December, John Bolton said he would consider running for president mainly to stop his former boss Donald Trump.
“Donald Trump, if he were to take the oath of office again, God forbid, would either be lying about preserving, protecting, and defending the Constitution, or maybe he wouldn’t say it at all. You can’t have this kind of approach,” Bolton said at the time.
“It’s not something one can disagree with. This is foundational to the republic.”
He continued:
“There’s one thing that would get me to get into the presidential race, which I looked at in prior elections. It would be to make it clear to the people of this country that Donald Trump is unacceptable as the Republican nominee.”
Bolton also claimed that Trump’s act was “old and tired” and said the Republican party is ready to move on to a “fresh face.”
“There are a lot of reasons to be against Trump being the nominee, but the one I’m hearing now as I call around the country, talking to my supporters and others about what happened on 8 November, is the number of people who have just switched Trump off in their brain,” Bolton said.

All these Republicans are running even though they know they have no chance of winning but they can crowd a debate stage and hopefully embarrass Trump…plus they will make a few bucks in the process. If the Democrats can forgo a primary so can we…just shut these aholes out and spoil their plans….it’s a new day in America and it isn’t for the better.
Trump defeated 16 Republican challengers in 2016. Plenty of grifters trying to score points with the Republican establishment, but all they will really do is compete against each other, diluting resources and media attention in such a way that each gets a trivial share.
They can put “former presidential candidate” in front of their names.

John Bolton is an interesting person. He accurately assesses every situation and truly understands the root causes of geopolitical turmoil but his only solution to any problem is to attack, attack, attack. But then again, advantage usually goes to the attacker because the attacker has a plan while the attacked is usually caught with pants down.
Considering the disasters the last 5 administrations have been, and I include WarpSpeed-lockdown-due process later Trump, maybe a real war with a real enemy is what we need. At worst we’ll separate the wheat from the chaff.
