President Donald Trump applauded CNN’s “sky high ratings” his town hall delivered, proclaiming “many minds were changed.”
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump expressed pleasure that three million-plus viewers tuned in.
“People are criticizing CNN for giving me a Forum to tell the TRUTH. I believe it was a very smart thing that they did, with Sky High Ratings that they haven’t seen in a very long time,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social. “It was by far the biggest Show of the night, the week, and the month!”
Trump added that he was making “important” points regarding ongoing issues with the current administration, such as the Russia-Ukraine war, the southern border, runaway inflation, and the Afghanistan withdrawal debacle.
“The Radical Left screamed, “Take it down, take it down,” during the Show, because they saw that I was making so many important points on the Border, Energy Independence, the Afghanistan Catastrophe, Inflation, the Economy, Russia/Ukraine, and so much more,” Trump posted.
“Many minds were changed on Wednesday night by listening to Common Sense and sheer “Brilliance.”
As The Daily Fetched reported on Thursday, Citing early Nielsen data, CNN town hall attracted 3.1 million viewers. That number will grow when the network gets a better grasp on those who watched on varying digital streams.
But Wednesday’s 3.1 million viewers was good enough to wallop the competition on Fox News and MSNBC in both total viewers and in the 25-54 age demographic most sought after by advertisers.
“Fox News Tonight” attracted a mere 1.41 million total viewers, while “All In with Chris Hayes” brought in 1.37 million viewers for MSNBC.
That is “five times higher than CNN’s typical performance at 8pm,” Brian Stelter tweeted about the ratings after the Trump appearance. “The event outdated Fox and MSNBC.”
During the broadcast, Trump answered questions from registered Republicans and undeclared voters.
Trump also received a standing ovation at the end of the show.
