Perhaps one of the most telling moments of Trump’s appearance at the CNN Town Hall was when the cameras stopped rolling as he addressed the studio audience, who reciprocated a warm response despite the nature of what had just been discussed.
For a former president who had just defended himself against some of the vilest accusations from E. Jean Carroll, it shows the public, including the CNN studio audience, is finally seeing through the media witch hunt against Trump.
The video, which appeared to have been captured by an audience member, showed Trump candidly speaking to the audience as they clapped and cheered.
Although the first part of the video is inaudible, you can hear Trump say, “Have a good time, everybody,” before concluding with, “Make America great again.”
The video was posted by Editor in Chief of The Truth Gazette, Brilyn Hollyhand:
Another moment during the town hall, when Trump drew applause, was when he was asked if he would pardon the January 6 rioters that were convicted.
A CNN audience member asked Trump, “Will you pardon the January 6 rioters who were convicted of federal offenses?”
Trump responded, “I am inclined to pardon many of them. I can’t say for every single one because a couple of them probably got out of control. But you know when you look at it, when you look at Antifa, what they’ve done to Portland.”
“When you look at Antifa and what they’ve done to Minneapolis and so many other places. Look what they did to Seattle and BLM; many people were killed. I’m not trying to justify anything. But you have two standards of justice in this country. And then what they’ve done to these people, they’ve persecuted these people. And yeah, my answer is, if I get in … it will be a large portion of… And what they’ve done to so many people is nothing. Nothing!” Trump said.
“And then what they’ve done to these people is they’ve persecuted these people. And yeah, my answer is, I will most likely if I get in, I will say most likely it will be a large portion of them.” (Audience Applause)
“It will be very early on. And they’re living in hell. And they’re policemen and they’re firemen, and they’re soldiers, and they’re carpenters, and they’re electricians, and they’re great people. Many of them are just great people.”
CNN also cut Trump’s town hall appearance short by twenty minutes after Trump took control of the forum from leftist anchor Kaitlan Collins.
