Rep. Jim Jordan declared he is backing former President Donald Trump “all the way” for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.
Jordan confirmed his support for Trump during Friday’s National Rifle Association convention.
“No one has demonstrated that they will do what they said and get things done like he did, and he did it with everyone in that town against him,” Jordan told Fox News.
“And that’s what I still respect about President Trump, and I’m for him all the way,” he added.
Trump delivered a powerful speech at the event on Friday, vowing that “no one will lay a finger on your firearms” if he is elected.
The 45th president also pledged he would also create “a new tax credit to reimburse any teacher for the full cost of a concealed-carry firearm and training from highly qualified experts,”
Watch
Last week, Jordan announced plans to escalate his fight against Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s Trump indictment with a “field hearing” just blocks from the ‘corrupt DA’s office in New York City next week.
Days later, Bragg filed a federal lawsuit against Jordan over the Republican’s inquiry, calling it a “transparent campaign to intimidate and attack” him.
Bragg is asking a judge to invalidate subpoenas that Jordan, the chair of the House Judiciary Committee, has as part of the investigation of Bragg’s dubious handling of the Trump case.
Bragg, in his lawsuit, said he’s taking legal action “in response to an unprecedentedly brazen and unconstitutional attack by members of Congress on an ongoing New York State criminal prosecution and investigation of former President Donald J. Trump.”
