New Evidence Shows Hunter Biden Sold Access to Family’s Only Asset

Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, Representative Jason Smith (R-MO), released explosive new evidence on Wednesday, giving further credibility to claims Hunter Biden sold access to his father and then-Vice President Joe Biden.

In a text message to a business associate, Hunter Biden referred to his father as “family’s only asset” and “the brand,” adding weight to claims he sold access to the VP.

“Even more alarming, the Biden family’s foreign influence peddling operation suggests an effort to sway U.S. policy decisions,” Rep. Smith said.

The Missouri Republican confirmed the committee had reviewed IRS documents which connected Hunter Biden’s “…business activities to official government activity while Joe Biden served as Vice President of the United States.”

Smith referred to an incident in 2016 where Hunter Biden and a business associate traveled to Mexico City on Air Force Two to close a business deal with billionaire Miguel Alemán.

According to Smith, associates of Hunter Biden “were instructed to not mention Joe being involved” when it came to the Biden family’s business dealings.

“The evidence also documents a campaign by the Justice Department to protect the Biden family from investigation, even as Hunter Biden attempted to evade paying taxes on income that came from foreign countries, including China, Ukraine, and others,” Smith stated.

“That Biden protection effort was strongest whenever investigative steps might have led to or implicated actions taken by Joe Biden,” Smith added.

DOJ officials ordered investigators seeking a search warrant “…to erase any mention of a ‘Political Figure 1,’ which documents reveal is Joe Biden.”

Meanwhile, Democrats blasted committee Republicans for focusing on impeachment efforts and undeniable evidence of Hunter Biden sold access to his father.

Ranking Member Richard Neal (D-Mass.) said that the whistleblower testimony was just a collection of uncorroborated allegations and cherry-picked

Ranking Member Richard Neal (D-Mass.) said in his opening statement at the closed-door session that the whistleblower testimony consisted of uncorroborated allegations and heavily redacted documents cherry-picked by the IRS whistleblowers.

“Why waste precious time that could be put toward keeping the government open? Other than to distract from reality,” Neal said in the statement he provided reporters.

Biden has repeatedly denied involvement in his family’s business agreements.

“House Republicans have again cried wolf and provided no evidence tying President Biden to wrongdoing,” a White House spokesperson said.

“Instead of wasting time with media stunts trumpeting half-baked conspiracy theories, House Republicans should realize the clock is ticking — it’s time they stop trying to distract and start focusing on priorities that matter to the American people, like doing their jobs to prevent a government shutdown that would inflict real pain on working families.”

As Politico notes, The documents also reference an interview between investigators and President Joe Biden’s younger brother, James Biden.

In that interview, James said he was asked by Hunter to thank Kevin Morris —the Hollywood lawyer who lent Hunter more than $2 million to help pay off unpaid taxes — on behalf of the family, Smith said.

Meanwhile, Democrats pushed back against claims, including that the IRS whistleblowers were retaliated against and that Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss was previously denied special counsel status in the investigation.

Democrats highlighted the testimony by two FBI officials who claimed they didn’t recall Weiss saying he did not have full authority to pursue charges against Hunter Biden.

Last month, Kash Patel weighed on the claims that the DOJ intervened on behalf of Weiss.

“It is standard procedure for congressional inquiries to be routed through the agency’s legislative affairs shop,” Kash Patel told Breitbart News.

“What is not standard,” Patel continued, is for the DOJ to create “conspiratorial schemes concocted to subvert valid constitutional oversight and stonewall documentation production.”

“It also shows how Republicans allow themselves to be dominated by DOJ’s criminal conduct by flailing about with another strongly worded letter,” Patel added.

“Impeach them for breaking the law, or stop complaining when you get punched in the face.”

Weiss told House investigators in June that he had “ultimate authority” in charging Hunter Biden.

However, according to FOIA emails, Merrick Garland was in charge of responding to House investigators.

“Americans deserve to know the truth, especially now that Attorney General Garland has appointed as special counsel the same U.S. Attorney who oversaw Hunter Biden’s sweetheart plea deal and botched the investigation into his alleged tax crimes,” House Ways and Means Chair Jason Smith (R-MO) and Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH) wrote.
