James Clapper I Haven-t Seen Proof Russians Didn-t Mess with Hunter Biden-s Laptop

Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper still claims the Hunter Biden laptop story was Russian misinformation, and he does not regret signing on to the letter affirming the declaration.

On Tuesday’s broadcast of “CNN Primetime,” Clapper argued “the letter was appropriately caveated, by acknowledging” there was no hard evidence of the Russian misinformation claim.

James Clapper also asserted, “And, to this day, I still have not seen any official results of a forensic analysis of that(Hunter Biden’s) laptop as to whether or not, in some way, the Russians messed with it.”

Host Kaitlan Collins asked, “[D]o you regret signing that letter, in the wake of how things have transpired and where things [are] today and how Republicans in Congress are using that letter?”

Clapper responded:

“Well, to answer your question, no, I don’t regret it. I thought, at the time, that it was appropriate to sound a warning about, watch out for the dark hand of the Russians,” Clapper said.

“And in my case, this was on the heels of what I saw the Russians do in 2016 to interfere and influence the outcome of our election,” Clapper added.

“So, I thought it was appropriate. I thought the letter was appropriately caveated by acknowledging we didn’t have any direct evidence,” he continued.

“And, to this day, I still have not seen any official results of a forensic analysis of that laptop as to whether or not, in some way, the Russians messed with it.”

However, Collins pointed out there is no actual proof Russia had anything to do with the laptop, which Clapper acknowledged.

Watch

As The Daily Fetched reported earlier this year, the former top intelligence officials who claimed the Hunter Biden laptop story was disinformation remained silent after the release of the explosive internal Twitter emails.

As we also reported in May, there was evidence that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) was involved in helping solicited cosigners for the infamous letter claiming the explosive Hunter Biden laptop story as “Russian disinformation.”

The letter was signed by 51 former intelligence officials, which threw shade on the truth of the laptop contents, and claimed it had “all the classic earmarks of Russian disinformation.”

The report states:

“One signer of the statement, former CIA analyst David Cariens, disclosed to the Committees that a CIA employee affiliated with the agency’s Prepublication Classification Review Board (‘PCRB’) informed him of the existence of the statement and asked if he would sign it. The Committees have requested additional material from the CIA, which has ignored the request to date.”

In a written statement, Cariens said the CIA, or at least one CIA employee, “may have helped in the effort to solicit signatures for the statement,” according to the report.
