Former Hawaii Democrat congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard took aim at the Associated Press, claiming the mainstream outlet inserts its own “political biases” into its news to keep the “Democrat elite” happy.
Gabbard’s comments came after an AP reporter ran a piece “exploiting” the racially-motivated mass shooting in Jacksonville, Florida, which the former Democrat described as “offensive” and “egregious.”
“I know you remember as well as I do back when the AP was a trusted news source that would objectively just report the news, just report information,’ she said.
“They have now become the “Associated Propaganda,” Tulsi Gabbard said, noting how the Associated Press is inserting its political bias into news.
“And especially in this situation, how offensive and egregious it is that they’re exploiting this terrible tragedy to once again advance their own political agenda, which is completely aligned with the agenda of the Democrat elite,” Gabbard told Fox News’ Sean Hannity on Tuesday.
“They don’t care about the people. They don’t care about information. They don’t care about facts,” Gabbard said.
“They don’t care about the consequences, the devastating and dangerous consequences of their actions,” Gabbard continued.
“We, the American people, we just want information. We want these people to show us the respect of being intelligent human beings, adults. We have a will of our own. We can draw our own conclusions based on the facts that we receive. But they don’t see us as that.”
“They disrespect us and our intelligence by assuming that they can just feed us whatever propaganda they want. We’re just going to soak it up,” Gabbard added. “We’re not that stupid.”

Last month, a masked man shot and killed three black Americans at a Dollar Tree store in Jacksonville, Florida.
While Democrats used the racially motivated mass shooting to push for gun control, County Sheriff TK Waters said the individual was to blame, not the weapon.
“The Story’s always about guns. People are bad; this guy’s a bad guy. [But] if I take my gun off right now and lay it on this counter, nothing will happen.”
“It’ll sit there — but as soon as wicked person grabs ahold of that handgun and starts shooting people with it — there’s the problem.”
