President Donald Trump announced he will host a screening of the film Sound of Freedom at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey on July 19.
The event screening of the anti-child trafficking film will be open to club members and supporters.
At the event, Trump will be joined by the film’s producer, Eduardo Verástegui, acting star Jim Caviezel, and founder and CEO of Operation Underground Railroad, Tim Ballard.
Trump praised the film in a statement:
“Sound of Freedom grossed $41.7 million in the first week of its release and opened at No. 1 in Texas, Florida, and Arizona theaters,” he said.
“The feature has taken the nation by storm, beating out Disney’s Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny in July 4th movie ticket sales despite appearing in fewer theaters, securing the top position in the box office for the day.”
Gibson said last week, “One of the most disturbing problems in our world today is human trafficking and particularly the trafficking of children.”
UFC boss Dana White also pledged to pay for all his employees to see the groundbreaking film.
After the highly anticipated UFC event, Trump was joined by Gibson and Roger Stone backstage, which created a massive buzz given that such strong personalities with outspoken views were together under such circumstances.
Sound of Freedom is based on the true story of former government agent Tim Ballard who embarked on a mission to save children from human traffickers and pedophiles.
In the film, actor Jim Caviezel, who portrays Ballard, addresses the audience with a heartfelt message, acknowledging the obstacles faced by the film during production and highlighting the horrors of the sex trafficking industry.
CEO of Angel Studios, Neal Harmon, spoke about the film’s success, saying, “This movie has now taken on a life of its own to become something more than that, a grassroots movement.”
