Republican Senator Ted Cruz said that Elon Musk purchasing X, formerly Twitter, was a massive victory for free speech.
Speaking to Just the News, Cruz said that one of the best ways to take back institutions from the radical left is for conservatives to invest in major platforms.
“The example I use on this is Elon Musk’s buying Twitter, which I think is the single most important step for free speech in decades,” Cruz said.
Cruz’s book titled “Unwoke: How to Defeat Cultural Marxism in America” details steps conservatives take to win back America from leftist ideologies.
“This book explains how and why the radical left took over just about every major institution in America, and each chapter of the book addresses a different institution,” he said.
On Cruz’s website, he has a “whistleblower” page for citizens to “report waste, fraud, abuse, or other misconduct” government agencies.
“I think if we don’t recapture these institutions, we’re going to lose our nation,” he added.
Earlier this month, Musk said he was prepared to go to prison to protect free speech.
In an explosive interview with conservative journalist Jack Posobiec, Musk outlined his commitment to never allowing such censorship on X.
“If they started reaching out again, would that be something that you or the team, and no, I can understand if you don’t want to answer now, but you would consider making public?” Posobiec asked.
Musk responded:
“If I think a government agency is breaking the law in their demands on the platform, I would be prepared to go to prison personally if I think they are the ones breaking the the law.”

Last year, Musk released the internal Twitter communications in one of the “Twitter Files,” which exposed the platform working with former FBI employees.
Over the weekend, Musk restored Alex Jones’s X account after he posted a reply to a poll on Saturday asking the platform’s users whether he should reinstate the InfoWars host, who was banned from the platform in 2018.
