X owner Elon Musk reiterated his stance on protecting free speech, vowing never to bow down to censorship, and is prepared to go to prison if necessary.
In an explosive interview with conservative journalist Jack Posobiec, who cited the censorship of the Hunter Biden laptop story ahead of the 202 elections, Musk outlined his commitment to never allowing such censorship to happen on X.
“If they started reaching out again, would that be something that you or the team, and no, I can understand if you don’t want to answer now, but you would consider making public?” Posobiec asked.
Musk responded:
“If I think a government agency is breaking the law in their demands on the platform, I would be prepared to go to prison personally if I think they are the ones breaking the the law.”

Last year, Musk released the internal Twitter communications in one of the “Twitter Files,” which revealed the platform was working with a former FBI employee to shape content moderation and, ultimately, the narrative.
The company cited its “hacked materials policy,” and a bogus letter signed by several retired intelligence officials in its decision to censor the Hunter Biden laptop story due to a debunked “Russian disinformation campaign.”
Over the weekend, Musk restored Alex Jones’s X account after he posted a reply to a poll on Saturday asking the platform’s users whether he should reinstate the InfoWars host, who was banned from the platform in 2018.
“Reinstate Alex Jones on this platform?” Musk asked.
Almost two million X users voted, with over 70% voting in favor of Jones’ return.
“The people have spoken, and so it shall be,” Musk wrote in reply to the poll, which was in favor of allowing Alex Jones to return.

Musk said Jones is welcomed on the platform but added:
“He cannot break the law.”
