Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski confirmed on Monday that the free speech platform had suffered an “unprecedented” attack, which he suspects is “politically motivated.”
Pavlovski suggested the attack was carried out by those looking to censor Rumble’s content creators, adding that it could be related to the platform hosting uncensored videos, such as the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.
I can confirm that this attack has been unprecedented and has been happening since this weekend.

I also suspect it is political, coming from activists and/or organizations who want to censor our creators, and related to J6 videos being posted on Rumble. https://t.co/tGomVXxEzN
In a post on X Monday afternoon, lawyer and commentator Viva Frei said:
“I was planning to go live, but Rumble and Locals are down.”
“Apparently it is a massive, unprecedented attack.”
“One that is likely politically motivated. If I have any updates, I will let everyone know. Godspeed Rumble!”
Pavlovski later confirmed Frei’s suspicions, noting the attack against the platform had been going on “since this weekend.”
“I also suspect it is political,” he added.
Pavlovski said the attack might be “Coming from activists and/or organizations who want to censor our creators, and related to J6 videos being posted on Rumble.”
In response to the attacks, Conservative host Tim Pool simply wrote, “War.”

Meanwhile, Elijah Schaffer referred to the attack as “absolutely unhinged behavior from enemies of free speech.”

“Their attacks show that Rumble is worth fighting for, because free speech is worth fighting for,” another user added.
This isn’t the first time Rumble has been attacked.
In November, the platform suffered a “major DDoS attack” after Pavlovski vowed to join Elon Musk and “go thermonuclear as well” following a Media Matters hit piece.
A DDoS attack is “a cybercrime where the attacker floods a server with internet traffic to prevent users from accessing connected online services and sites.
Such attacks render a website unusable.
