An elderly Jewish man was killed after being struck on the head with a megaphone by a pro-Palestinian protestor on the weekend during a rally.
The 69-year-old victim was involved in an altercation that took place on Westlake Blvd in Ventura County, Los Angeles, on Sunday.
As the Daily Mail reported, Paul Kessler, 69, was caught up in rival rallies in Thousand Oaks on Sunday – one in support of Israel and the other backing the Palestinian cause.
Kessler is understood to have been involved in a tussle with another person where he fell backward and hit his head on the ground.
Harrowing social media footage showed him lying on the ground with a pool of blood under him as medics rushed to help him.
He was taken to the hospital on Sunday but died of his injuries the following day.
Cops launched an investigation as his autopsy ruled his death a homicide.
Kessler’s wife on Monday was said to be ‘in a state of total shock’ while local religious leaders called his death a ‘tragedy.’
The instrument used in the assault was allegedly a megaphone.
The elderly Jewish man fell to the ground, suffering a severe head injury after being hit by the protestor.
According to eyewitnesses, the man fell and began bleeding to the ground while a woman bearing a sign that read “free Palestine” rushed to provide medical assistance.

The victim was transported to a North Los Angeles hospital, Ynet News reported.
Tragically, he passed away on Monday due to the injuries he had sustained.
“The Acorn has confirmed that the 65-year-old Jewish man who was injured in a confrontation with Palestinian protestors at the corner of Westlake and Thousand Oaks boulevards Sunday in T.O. has now died from his wounds,” Acorn reported.

The cause of death was determined to be a brain hemorrhage.
Rabbi Avraham Berkowitz confirmed that the 65-year-old Jewish man is Paul Kessler.
“Paul Kessler, a 65-year-old Jewish man who was pro-Israel, was beaten to death in Los Angeles by a pro-Palestinian activist with a megaphone.”
“The victim was evacuated to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The LAPD has confirmed this.”
