Ron DeSantis booster Dave Rubin has fallen in line with the leftist narrative, calling Arizona Senate candidate Kari Lake an “election denier.”
Rubin’s remarks are another example of how the DeSantis camp utilizes leftist smears against America First and MAGA conservatives.
Lake and former president Donald Trump have spearheaded the election integrity movement, shedding light on her run for Governor of Arizona and exposing flaws in mail-in ballot signature verification.
However, pro-DeSantis Rubin chose to play into the leftist narrative of smearing Lake and anyone who questions mail-in ballots and voting machines as an “election denier.”
“Ouch, I’ve been unfollowed by election denier @KariLake for sharing her obvious lies about Florida and DeSantis,” he wrote.
“Ironically she came up to me at the debate yesterday and said, “Don’t take it personally.”
Here’s a parting gift, Kari”

Unsurprisingly, Rubin once identified with the “progressive left.”
The DeSantis booster hosted the Hot Gay Comics podcast and worked for the far-left Young Turks, so it’s no surprise he is attacking Lake and embracing the “election denier” narrative.
Rubin has since begun courting a conservative audience following Donald Trump’s election victory in 2016, positioning himself as a “classical liberal.”
Earlier this year, Rubin said DeSantis had done an “unbelievable job” fighting the woke.
“He’s actually getting it out of our schools, getting it out of our institutions – that’s a beautiful thing,” Rubin told Sky News in May.
“He basically has done everything that you could ask a chief executive, which is what the Governor is, to do.”
He is arguably a bizarre fit for the DeSantis team.
Earlier this year, DeSantis surrogate Jenna Ellis criticized Rubin for using a surrogate mother to procure children for himself and his gay “husband.”
It appears Lake has become a target for DeSantis, with the Florida Governor recently launching an attack on her during the Bill Maher show.
Last month, Lake blasted DeSantis as a “phony” after he claimed Trump lost the 2020 election.
DeSantis rejected Donald Trump’s claim that the 2020 election was rigged in favor of Joe Biden.
“Whoever puts their hand on the Bible on Jan. 20 every four years is the winner,” DeSantis told NBC News.
While DeSantis said the 2020 election was not perfect, he clearly stated that Trump lost.
“But respectfully, you did not clearly answer that question,” Burns said.
“And if you can’t give a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ on whether or not he lost —”
“No, of course, he lost,” DeSantis said, adding, “Joe Biden’s the president.”
When asked about the 2020 presidential election, Ron DeSantis agreed with President Obama that Trump lost, saying, “I've said many times the election is what it is. All those theories that were put out, did not prove to be true.”— Charles R Downs (@TheCharlesDowns) August 4, 2023
Lake responded to DeSantis’s remarks during Steve Bannon’s ‘War Room’ podcast.
“I saw a little bit of [DeSantis’ NBC interview] … disgusting,” Lake said on Bannon’s War Room podcast.
“I’ll tell you what, the people of Iowa don’t like backstabbers. I’m from Iowa; I grew up there. They can smell a phony from a mile away. They’ve determined that Ron’s a phony.”
“He’s got to buy endorsements, spending all that big donor money, wasting it,” she continued.
“When he really should be supporting [former] President Trump … this is about saving our country.”

This is about saving our country.
That's why I'm still in this fight.
That's why I'm barnstorming across the country urging patriotic Americans to step into the arena with me.https://t.co/gzafSvNeDz pic.twitter.com/yWALFJaUHw
