Former Arizona GOP gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake blasted Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as a “phony” after he remarked on Monday that former resident Donald Trump lost the 2020 election.
On Monday, The Daily Fetched reported DeSantis rejected Donald Trump’s claim that the 2020 election was rigged in favor of Joe Biden.
“Whoever puts their hand on the Bible on Jan. 20 every four years is the winner,” DeSantis told NBC News.
While DeSantis said the 2020 election was not perfect, he clearly stated that Trump lost.
“But respectfully, you did not clearly answer that question,” Burns said.
“And if you can’t give a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ on whether or not he lost —”
“No, of course, he lost,” DeSantis said, adding, “Joe Biden’s the president.”
Lake slammed DeSantis for his remarks about Trump on the 2020 election during an interview with Steve Bannon on his ‘War Room’ podcast.
“I saw a little bit of [DeSantis’ NBC interview] … disgusting,” Lake said on Bannon’s War Room podcast.
“I’ll tell you what, the people of Iowa don’t like backstabbers. I’m from Iowa; I grew up there. They can smell a phony from a mile away. They’ve determined that Ron’s a phony.”
“He’s got to buy endorsements, spending all that big donor money, wasting it,” she continued. “When he really should be supporting [former] President Trump … this is about saving our country.”
Lake declared that supporting Trump’s 2024 bid s synonymous with being “pro-America.”
