Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi described the federal indictments against President Trump as “beautiful, intricate and exquisite” in a new interview on Monday.
“The indictments against the president are exquisite,” Pelosi said in an interview with New York Magazine’s “Intelligencer.”
“They’re beautiful and intricate, and they probably have a better chance of conviction than anything that I would come up with,” Pelosi said.
Nancy Pelosi was referring to the latest indictments against Donald Trump unveiled by special counsel Jack Smith.
Trump was arraigned on four criminal charges this month, while in June, he was indicted over his retention of classified documents after he left the White House.
Trump has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Pelosi pushed for an inquiry into the Jan 6 attack on the Capitol while serving as speaker, creating the Jan 6 select committee and effectively providing the basis for the latest indictment against Trump.
However, Pelosi resisted taking credit for any of the committee’s work, aside from appointing its members.
She also praised the panel for providing a “beautiful balance” in its approach and a “seriousness of purpose.”
She also warned about what she saw as the dangers of another Trump term in the White House.
“Don’t even think of that,” she said in the interview.
“Don’t think of the world being on fire. It cannot happen, or we will not be the United States of America.”
“If he were to be president,” she added.
“It would be a criminal enterprise in the White House,” Pelosi decalred.
On Sunday, Trump viciously tore into Pelosi for remarks claiming he was a “scared puppy” during his arraignment.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump blistered Pelosi:
“I purposely didn’t comment on Nancy Pelosi’s very weird story concerning her husband, but now I can because she said something about me, with glee, that was really quite vicious,” Trump began in his post.
Trump disagreed with Pelosi’s description and denied he was ever “scared.”
“‘I saw a scared puppy,’ she said, as she watched me on television, like millions of others, that didn’t see that,” Trump continued in his Truth Social post. “I wasn’t ‘scared.'”
