Democratic New York Mayor Eric Adams signed an executive order on Monday to make New York a sanctuary city for “gender-affirming care,” otherwise known as child sex changes.
Executive Order 32 prohibits city resources from being used to detain, prosecute or investigate those who “sought, obtained, provided, or facilitated gender-affirming care” in New York.
In a statement, Adams said this:
“As states across the nation continue their onslaught of attacks on our LGBTQ+ neighbors, New York City is doing what we have always done — standing up for justice and against discrimination.”
“This executive order reaffirms the fact that hate has no place in our city and that all people deserve the right to gender-affirming care and protection against prosecution for being who they are,” he said.
The order Adams signed comes as 20 other states passed laws to ban child sex changes and the use of cross-sex hormones and surgery in minors.
Recently, Louisiana became a possible 21st state pending a veto by the state’s Governor, John Bel Edwards.

“It also comes at a time when states across the country are becoming sanctuary states for families looking to provide experimental treatment to their children. The state of Minnesota goes as far as to ignore the judgments of custody cases from other states if custody is terminated because one parent seeks out a sex change for their child. California has enacted a law to do that as well.
Those who enact these sanctuary policies cite that “gender-affirming care” is scientifically proven to be in the best interest of the child. However, countries such as Sweden, Finland, England, and Norway have reversed course on the practice after finding the supportive studies to be of poor quality.”
Recently Jordan Peterson said, “The phrase ‘gender-affirming’ care is a criminally evil lie.”
Proponents of its practice ignore that medicalization leaves kids sterilized.
Last month, Elon Musk said doctors or parents who approve or conduct sex-change surgeries on minors should be jailed for life.
“Any parent or doctor who sterilizes a child before they are a consenting adult should go to prison for life,” Musk wrote on Twitter.
Meanwhile, Joe Biden has criticized Ron DeSantis for his stance against transgender care for teens.
Biden said it is “close to sinful” for states to block minors’ access to medical treatments and procedures, The Daily Mail reported.
“It is not “sinful” to prohibit the mutilation of minors. It is not acceptable for the federal government to mandate that procedures like sex change operations be allowed for kids,” DeSantis responded.
