Michigan’s far-left governor, Gretchen Whitmer, was confronted by a group of angry pro-Palestine protesters while attending her daughter’s graduation dinner.
Whitmer, who was inside the restaurant, was approached by the protesters who yelled at her, “How do you justify genocide?”
“How do you sleep at night?” another protester yelled at the Governor.
“What are you doing about Palestinian children?”
Whitmer attempted to quell the situation by talking with the protesters, saying:
“I appreciate you raising your voices here” she said as told she was celebrating her daughter’s graduation.
“What about all of the children that are in mass graves?” one of the protesters shouted back.
“What about them?”
“Are you doing anything about it?” the protester continued before accusing Whitmer of supporting “genocide.”
Watch
Michigan’s large Muslim population has consistently expressed dissatisfaction with Biden’s handling of the conflict in Gaza.
In the state’s recent Democratic primary, almost 20 percent of the electorate voted against Biden, voting “undeclared” in protest.
U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) set a target of 10,000 votes. The results saw at least 101,436 Michigan Democrats voting “uncommitted” – 13.2 percent of the vote.
Five percent of voters went to Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) and perennial candidate Marianne Williamson.
The large swath of uncommitted voters far surpassed the margin of victory needed by then-candidate Donald Trump in 2016.
Whitmer has been desperately urging Democrats to vote for Biden in November, warning that if they don’t, Trump will win.
“It’s important not to lose sight of the fact that any vote that’s not cast for Joe Biden supports a second Trump term,” Whitmer told CNN earlier this year.
“A second Trump term would be devastating. Not just on fundamental rights, not just on our democracy here at home, but also when it comes to foreign policy.”
Whitmer also repeated the “Muslim ban” lie, referring to the Trump Administration’s travel restriction on Muslim-majority nations with security concerns.
