Non-binary Colorado gay club shooter Anderson Lee Aldrich, who identifies as “they/them,” appeared in court looking bewildered and slumped over.
A conference video showed Aldrich appearing to be drugged up and unable to sit up straight.
Anderson Lee Aldrich is addressed by Mx, according to a Tuesday night court filing by his attorney.
The Saturday mass shooting at Club Q killed five and injured 17 people.
Aldrich has been charged with five counts of first-degree murder and ‘bias-motivated crime.’

Establishment media figures blamed the attack on conservative reporters who have exposed all-ages family brunch drag shows at club Q.
New York Times reporter Nicholas Bogel-Burroughs posted to Twitter:
“In new court filing, public defenders for the suspect in the mass shooting at a Colorado gay club that left 5 people dead say that their client is non-binary and that “they use they/them pronouns.” The lawyers refer to their client as Mx. Anderson Aldrich.”
Aldrich has been in hospital since Tuesday after being injured by patrons at Club Q who beat him into submission to stop the attack.
Aldrich is being held at the El Paso County jail.

Earlier this week, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi marked Transgender Remembrance Day by implicating MAGA Republicans in the Colorado Gay Club shooting.
“As our nation marks Transgender Day of Remembrance, the House Democratic Caucus mourns the countless Americans stolen away by the scourge of transphobic violence, a crisis that continues to disproportionately harm trans people of color,” Pelosi said in a statement.
“That fight remains more urgent than ever, as right-wing extremists target transgender Americans’ most fundamental rights and freedoms. Whether spouting dangerous rhetoric from cable news desks or openly bullying schoolchildren from the halls of power, MAGA Republicans are cruelly undermining the safety and well-being of our transgender community,” Pelosi added.
