CNN admitted on Monday that former President Donald Trump has a very good chance of winning the US 2024 presidential election despite the four indictments against him.
A CNN analyst explained that Trump is a serious contender despite Joe Biden weaponizing the Justice Department against him.
“This idea that Donald Trump can’t win the general election. I want you to lose that idea,” the analyst said.
“This race is very, very close, and Donald Trump is polling better right now than basically at any point during the entire 2020 cycle,” he explained.
“After four indictments, it just doesn’t really seem to matter,” he admitted.
“That’s fascinating!” one CNN host replied, appearing to be in shock.
Meanwhile, Trump dominates all Republican candidates by massive margins, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
“Look at where DeSantis is in all these,” the analyst said, showing a poll on the screen that has Trump at 62 percent and DeSantis at just 16 percent.
“Look how far back he is. He doesn’t crack 20 percent in any of them,” he said.
Watch
The analyst explained that if Trump were to go up against Joe Biden, the race would be close, with polls showing that “the largest lead for Joe Biden is just three points within the margin of error.”
The first GOP presidential primary debate will kick off Wednesday in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Trump confirmed he would not participate in the GOP presidential primary debate, also suggesting he could sit out the others.
“The public knows who I am & what a successful Presidency I had,” Trump announced on Truth Social Sunday.
“I WILL THEREFORE NOT BE DOING THE DEBATES!”
