Dr. Patrick Ho, the Chinese “spy chief” who paid President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, to act as his attorney in 2017, now wants a refund.
He sent a legal letter to Hunter threatening to sue him as he didn’t receive the “legal work” promised by Hunter.
Last week, Ho sent a legal letter to Hunter demanding that their attorney-client agreement be terminated and threatening legal action unless he received a detailed list of services Hunter supposedly provides.
Ho also demanded a reimbursement for the unused funds, as laid out in the contract.
The letter, sent by Hong Kong law firm Huen & Partners, has a deadline of seven days for the repayment.
“Patrick says he paid him, and that Hunter never did anything for him,” a friend of Ho’s told The New York Post, “and that according to the contract the money should be reimbursed.”
Like many things involving the Biden family, they failed to deliver anything promised.
Red State reported:
“The money was wired from CEFC in China to CEFC’s Hong Kong HSBC account to the bank account of Hudson West III (HWIII), the firm Hunter co-owned with CEFC on Nov. 2, 2017. Then finally it ended up in the account of Hunter’s private firm, Owasco. Ho was then arrested on Nov. 18, 2017. He was convicted of bribery and money laundering with African politicians – and ultimately offered them bribes to help CEFC.“
Ho claimed Hunter pocketed the $1 million but did not deliver any legal work other than call another attorney before turning up an hour late for a meeting with Ho and Kim at the Manhattan Correctional Center.
After Ho was arrested, Hunter didn’t visit him in jail.
Ho was also “baffled” when Hunter testified during his failed plea hearing that he paid him for legal services.
The attorney engagement letter signed in 2017 said:
“If at the conclusion of this agreement, the total amount of Attorney fees and costs is less than that of the retainer sum, the remaining amount will be reimbursed to the client.”
On that basis, Ho wants his money back.
According to IRS investigator Joseph Ziegler, who testified to the House Ways and Means Committee in 2023, evidence showed:
“This $1 million payment was not for legal fees and was misrepresented by the Delaware U.S. Attorney’s Office in the statement of facts, and that its ultimate purpose was still under investigation by DOJ.”
Hunter also received $7.2 million from CEFC between March 2017 and March 2018. He also received a $80,000 diamond from CEFC chairman Ye Jianming
In 2022, there were reports of a voicemail from Joe Biden calling up Hunter about a NY Times article about Hunter’s relationship with CEFC and Ho. Joe thought Hunter was “clear” after the report.
