Former US Attorney General Bill Barr said he would “jump off a bridge” if Donald Trump secures the 2024 GOP nomination.
Speaking with NBC News, Barr said, “I have made clear that I strongly oppose Trump for the nomination and will not endorse Trump.”
When Bill Barr was asked how he would vote if the 2024 general election puts Trump against Joe Biden, Barr said, “I’ll jump off that bridge when I get to it.”
Barr, who served under Trump’s administration, came out against the former president in the last few years, warning Trump’s return to the White House could result in “chaos.”
Earlier this year, Barr said Trump himself lacks the discipline and strategic thinking to execute his policies.
“He does not have the discipline,” Barr said when asked about Trump being re-elected for his policies.
“He does not have the ability for strategic thinking and linear thinking or setting priorities or how to get things done in the system.”
“And, and so you may want his policies. But Trump will not deliver Trump policies,” Barr added.
“He will deliver chaos and, if anything, lead to a backlash that will set his policies much further back than they otherwise would be.”
Trump’s former Chief of Staff, Mick Mulvaney, also shared Barr’s sentiment, saying, “If anyone can lose to Joe Biden, it would be him.”
Just 4 out of the 44 individuals contacted who served in Trump’s Cabinet have publicly endorsed Trump for reelection.
These include:
- Final Chief of Staff Mark Meadows
- Former acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker
- Former budget chief Russell Vought
- Former acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenel
Last month, Trump blasted Barr after he claimed the 37-count federal indictment against Trump is “damning.”
Barr told “Fox News Sunday” that Trump was “toast” even if half the content of the federal indictment is proven true.
“It’s a very detailed indictment, and it’s very, very damning,” Bill Barr said.
Trump responded to Barr’s remarks on Truth Social:
“Virtually everyone is saying that the Indictment is about Election Interference & should not have been brought, except Bill Barr, a ‘disgruntled former employee’ & lazy Attorney General who was weak & totally ineffective.”
“He doesn’t mean what he’s saying; it’s just MISINFORMATION,” Trump wrote. “Barr’s doing it because he hates ‘TRUMP’ for firing him. He was deathly afraid of the Radical Left when they said they would Impeach him. He knows the Indictment is Bull…. Turn off FoxNews when that ‘Gutless Pig’ is on!”

Kind of misleading. He was just making a joke. Like Trump does, and gets taken seriously.
Might I suggest the Penobscot Narrows Bridge in Maine between Bucksport and Verona Island. Everyone who has jumped has succeeded in dying! Just let me know when you plan to do it so I can record it. I bet it will go viral for sure! Glad to be of assistance you large swamp creature.
