Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) on Sunday called for Fox News host Tucker Carlson to be banned from the network.
Literally 24 hours later, Carlson was fired.
I seems AOC got her wish to censor Tucker.
During an interview on MSNBC, AOC was asked by White House Press Secretary and current MSNBC host Jen Psaki, “Do you think media organizations or social media platforms should be accountable for the role, for being platforms for incitement?”
AOC responded:
“I believe that when it comes to broadcast television, like Fox News, these are subject to federal law, federal regulation in terms of what’s allowed on air and what isn’t.”
“When you look at what Tucker Carlson and some of these other folks on Fox do, it is very, very clearly incitement of violence — very clearly incitement of violence. And that is the line that we have to be willing to contend with,” AOC added.
“We have very real issues with what is permissible on air. We saw that with Jan. 6 and we saw that in the lead up to Jan. 6 and how we navigate questions — not just a freedom of speech but also accountability for incitement of violence — this is the line that we have to really explore through law as well,” she added.

Ocasio-Cortez’s call for Tucker Carlson to be fired came a day before Fox News announced they were parting ways with the host.
Journalist Glenn Greenwald accused AOC of calling for mass censorship, verging on fascism.
“FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor,” a Fox News statement reads.
The news comes just days after Dan Bongino confirmed that he had parted ways with Fox News on Thursday.

The former Secret Service agent and New York City police officer made the announcement on his podcast on Thursday, explaining that the network had been good to him over the last ten years, but the recent contract negotiations came up short.
Meanwhile, Don Lemon was terminated from his anchor role at CNN, he announced Monday.
The news comes mid allegations that he mistreated his female colleagues over the course of his career there.
