Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has suggested that Americans must be ready to accept Palestinian refugees into their communities.
During an appearance on CNN, AOC was asked whether Arab countries in the Middle East should open their borders to Palestinians rather than the United States.
Ocasio-Cortez responded by saying that while Arab countries should take in Palestinian refugees, Americans should be ready to accept them, too.
CNN asked AOC, “Should Arab countries be taking on the lion’s share of the burden to absorb what could be over a million, if not more, refugees from Gaza?”
AOC responded:
“I think there’s something to be said about the region’s partners being able to support and step up for Palestinians.”
“However, that does not abdicate the United States from our historic role that we’ve played in the world of accepting refugees and allowing people to restart their lives here.”

Other Democrats calling for America to accept Palestinian refugees include Representative and ‘squad’ member Jamaal Bowman.
Last week, Bowman called on the Biden administration to accept displaced Palestinian refugees.
As The Daily Fetched reported:
Around 1 million Palestinians are estimated to have been displaced in the Gaza Strip even before Israel initiated their expected ground invasion.
“Fifty percent of the population in Gaza are children,” Bowman said.
“The international community as well as the United States should be prepared to welcome refugees from Palestine while being very careful to vet and not allow members of Hamas.”
Approximately 57% of Gaza Strip residents maintain an opinion of Hamas that is at least somewhat positive, the Washington Institute reported.
As Breitbart noted, Refugee resettlement costs American taxpayers nearly $9 billion every five years, according to research, and each refugee costs taxpayers about $133,000 over the course of their lifetime.
Within five years, an estimated 16 percent of all refugees admitted will need housing assistance paid for by taxpayers.
Tiffany and Ogles have introduced the “GAZA Act” to ban Biden from bringing Palestinians to the U.S. for resettlement in American communities.
This week, Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT) introduced the same legislation in the Senate.
Earlier, President Joe Biden recently announced $100 million in aid for Gaza and the West Bank during his trip to Israel.
However, many Republicans argue that the money would just fall into the hands of terrorists.
GOP Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas also posted in X:
“Under present circumstances, ‘humanitarian assistance’ = resupply for Hamas terrorists. President Biden continues to embolden Iran and its terror proxies.”
