This year’s Golden Globes ceremony will feature an appearance by Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky, who will deliver a “special message of peace” to a fawning audience of Hollywood elites.
Actor Sean Penn will introduce Zelensky during the live telecast.
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association did not say in its announcement if Zelensky would appear in person at the Golden Globes or will address viewers remotely.
“Also participating in the telecast is Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy [sic], offering a special message of peace which will be introduced by Sean Penn,” the group said.
Zelensky, a Hollywood favorite, was visited by Penn in Ukraine to show his support for the president.
Other stars cozying up to Zelensky include Jessica Chastain, Ben Stiller, and Liev Schreiber.
Penn met with Zelensky in 2022 while he was shooting a documentary.
