An MSNBC talking head declared that if Joe Biden loses to Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election, the United States “could be a dictatorship next year.”
So-called ‘presidential historian’ Michael Beschloss compared Biden’s unhinged rambling to FDR warning Americans about the rise of fascism.
Anchor Andrea Mitchell asked Beschloss, “Take a big picture, zoom out for us on what’s at stake for [Biden] tonight.”
“You point to FDR’s Four Freedoms speech in 1941, obviously wartime, a bigger challenge, but let’s, you know, talk about the challenges tonight,” she asked.
Beschloss responded:
“This is a real historical moment.”
“We could be a dictatorship next year if Donald Trump is elected and carries through on his threats and carries through on his threats to suspend the Constitution.”
“That’s what’s at stake.”
He continued:
“This is a year when we Americans have to choose whether we’re going to live as a democracy, as a republic, or as an authoritarian system.'”
“That’s what FDR was doing in 1941, Nazis, fascists, Imperial Japanese were rampaging around the world, and he said ‘you Americans have to choose. ‘”
“This is a year when we Americans have to choose whether we’re going to live as a democracy, as a republic, or as an authoritarian system,” Beschloss declared.

In contrast, former Democrat Tulsi Gabbard last month said Democrats are the real dictators who “destroy democracy.”

Gabbard echoed Trump’s remarks, declaring Biden and the leading Party officials as “fascists,” “thugs,” and “tyrants.”
Gabbard has opposed the initiatives pushed by the left and supported Trump’s policies, which have now placed her on the shortlist to serve as his Vice President.
Gabbard began her speech at CPAC, warning, “Our democracy is under attack.”
She went on to identify the “perpetrators of this attack” as those who are aligned with the Biden administration.
