E. Jean Carroll told a cackling Rachel Maddow that she would use the money from her defamation case against former president Donald Trump to go shopping and “buy new shoes.”
As reported last week, Trump was ordered to pay $83.3 million in a civil defamation trial for comments regarding the alleged incident at the Bergdorf Goodman department store dressing room in Manhattan in the 1990s.
Trump was prevented by Judge Kaplan from arguing that he didn’t sexually assault Carroll.
Carroll’s accusation against Trump has no evidence or witnesses.

Instead of putting the money towards charities that would help other “rape victims,” Carroll said she will “go shopping, get completely new wardrobes, new shoes…Rachel, what do you want, penthouse.”

Carroll was asked if she would use some of “Trump’s money that you’re about to get to help shore up women’s rights.”
“First thing Rachel, you and I are gonna go shopping, we’re gonna get completely new wardrobes, new shoes…Rachel, what do you like, Penthouse? It’s yours, Rachel,” Carroll replied.
Carroll’s lawyer nervously added:
“That’s a joke,” as the women continued to cackle.

Trump responded to the verdict by vowing to appeal after he was ordered to pay $83.3 million in damages.
Trump wrote on Truth Social:
“Absolutely ridiculous!”
“I fully disagree with both verdicts, and will be appealing this whole Biden Directed Witch Hunt focused on me and the Republican Party. Our Legal System is out of control and being used as a Political Weapon.”
“They have taken away all First Amendment Rights,” he continued. “THIS IS NOT AMERICA!”
