Elon Musk restored the X account of Alex Jones after he posted a reply to a poll on Saturday asking the platform’s users whether he should reinstate the InfoWars host, who was banned from the platform in 2018.
“Reinstate Alex Jones on this platform?” Musk asked.
Almost two million X users voted, with over 70% voting in favor of Jones’ return.
“The people have spoken, and so it shall be,” Musk wrote in reply to the poll, which was in favor of allowing Alex Jones to return.

Musk said one of the main reasons he purchased Twitter was because of free speech concerns.
Jones was one of many Twitter accounts banned under the previous ownership for so-called enforced terms of service.
However, since Musk took over, most of those who had been previously banned were allowed back on the platform.
