Liberal actor Rob Reiner declared that “democracy” can only survive if Donald Trump is convicted and thrown in jail, and all third-party candidates are prohibited from running.
Pro-Biden Reiner made the absurd statement in a recent post to X, formerly known as Twitter.
However, many prominent commentators said Reiner’s call to prohibit all opposition candidates is anti-democratic and would only benefit Joe Biden.
Independent journalist Glenn Greenwald said Reiner’s remarks show the Democrat’s perverted idea of “democracy,” believing that imprisoning their opponents is noble.
The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway noted that removing candidates from the ballot would be “the equivalent of canceling the 2024 elections.”
Rob Reiner is one of Hollywood’s biggest Biden supporters, and he knows that throwing Trump in jail and banning third-party candidates will only benefit the establishment.
In 2020, the Hollywood actor fundraised for Biden, claiming Sleepy Joe was the best president since Lyndon B. Johnson.
Reiner’s remarks came as Biden’s poll numbers continued to sink.
As The Daily Fetched reported on Monday, Biden’s poor poll numbers are so bad they are alarming some Senate Democrats that their “economic messaging” on “Bidenomics” fell flat.
According to Real Clear Politics, Biden’s average approval rating pings at 42 percent, while a CBS/YouGov poll showed his approval rating at 40 percent versus 60 percent who are unhappy with his performance.
But Reiner appears oblivious to the facts.
Reiner was also recently fact-checked by “Community Notes” on X after spreading a lie about Jan 6 prisoner and Proud Boys leader, Enrique Tarrio, who was sentenced to 22 years in prison on Tuesday.

Not long before the 2022 midterm elections, Reiner warned that unless Democrats held the House of Representatives, the outcome would mean an end to all further US elections.
“[Republicans] are only interested in power.” he ranted on MSNBC.
“And they will do anything to get the power. And they are willing to kill, literally kill, to get the power. You can’t have a conversation with them.”
