Mitch McConnell No ‘Time Limit’ in Sending More Money to Ukraine

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell announced there is no “time limit” on American support for Ukraine, according to a report released Monday.

McConnell’s efforts to curb efforts to stop or at least examine how money is being sent and spent in Ukraine.

Mitch McConnell told Politico that the “most important thing going on internationally right now is the Ukraine war.”

During a February CODEL, McConnell dismissed a quote from a Biden administration official that America could not “do anything and everything forever” for Ukraine.

“That’s obviously a person who doesn’t know what they’re talking about,” McConnell said.

“So let me just tell you what the people who are actually elected to office and actually make the decisions about how long America is committed to this thing: Russia has to lose in Ukraine, and we can’t put a time limit on it,” he added,

American support for Ukraine has started to dwindle as inflation soars under Biden.

Now the majority of Americans oppose sending more aid to Ukraine, according to a recent poll.

As the Daily Fetched reported last week, US aid to Ukraine has cost every American household hundreds of dollars, according to Heritage Foundation budget expert Richard Stern.

“The formal aid packages alone amount to a staggering $113 billion—roughly $900 per American household and almost 12 times the spending cuts promised by House leadership in the annual spending bills,” Stern told The Daily Signal.

“As with all new federal spending,” Stern added.

“This $113 billion spending spree was added to our national debt and will cost more than $300 in interest costs per household over the decade. Of course, we’ve given more aid than that but haven’t paid the bill on it yet,” he said.

Joe Biden has requested a $40 billion supplemental funding bill, sending $24 billion to Ukraine.

House conservatives objected to his multi-billion-dollar aid package.

“This request exacerbates your administration’s out-of-control deficit spending and circumvents the bipartisan debt ceiling agreement,” the House conservatives wrote.

“Americans are tired of funding endless wars and want policies that not only help restore fiscal sanity in Washington but also put America and American citizens first.”

The Republicans demanded the Biden administration provide Congress with its “comprehensive strategy and mission for U.S. involvement in Ukraine.”

They argued that without a formal strategy, “there is no way to develop clear objectives, allocate the proper resources, conduct rigorous oversight, or hold officials accountable for success or failure.”
