A Democrat lawmaker from Arizona was captured on video swiping Bibles from a state House lounge before hiding them.
Security cameras in the House’s members-only lounge caught the lawmaker in the act after the security had scratched their heads about why so many Bibles were going missing.
Footage showed Democrat state Rep. Stephanie Stahl Hamilton taking two Bibles in just minutes and hiding them, KTVK reported.
Republican Speaker Pro Tempore Travis Grantham was not impressed.
“When I’m watching that, I’m thinking, ‘Well, this is obviously someone who’s got some purpose and some intent, and they know they’re doing something bad,'” Grantham told KTVK.

The House’s security team eventually found one Bible “buried in the members-only lounge furniture.”
Another bible was in the “community refrigerator.”
Unsurprisingly, Stahl Hamilton was not available for comment.
But the KTVK reporter decided to confront the Democrat lawmaker to get an explanation as to why she was hiding the bibles.
Hamilton frantically walked away in different directions after being confronted.
Then it gets weird.
Stahl Hamilton is an ordained minister, KTVK said
“Just a little playful commentary on the separation of church and state,” Stahl Hamilton finally said in a statement, the station added.
“I am a Presbyterian minister, so I obviously don’t have a problem with the Bible.”
Grantham told KTVK, “For an ordained minister to do that, again, it’s nonsensical. I have no clarity as to why it happened.”
