Former president Donald Trump picked an endorsement from Sen Bill Hagerty (R-TN) for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.
Hagerty has become the eighth GOP Senator to endorse Trump so far.
The Tennessee Republican announced his endorsement for Trump on Twitter:
“It is my honor to give my whole-hearted endorsement to Donald J. Trump to be the next President of the United States,” Hagerty wrote.
“I was honored to previously serve in his Administration.”
“President Trump stood up against Communist China, brought an end to Obama’s failed approach of ‘leading from behind,’ and revived our military and law enforcement as they witnessed support from their Commander-in-Chief that had been lacking—and has now gone missing again after two years of Joe Biden’s presidency,” he added.
“The mandate for a strong America has never been clearer, and I look forward to working again with President Trump to help our great nation find its way back from the precipice to the exceptional role we can and must play as a nation,” Hagerty concluded.
Trump spent time with Hagerty Saturday morning prior to his speech at the Republican National Committee in Nashville.
During his explosive speech, Trump declared, “the old Republican Party is gone, and it is never coming back.”
Trump noted the transition from the RINO Bush era of the Republican party to a right-leaning national party focused on populism.
“Republicans were a party known for starting wars overseas, cutting Social Security and Medicare at home, and pushing mass amnesty for illegal aliens,” Trump said.
The 45th president also highlighted his policy proposals, including ending the war in Ukraine and wiping out the Mexican drug cartels on the southern border.
Trump also promised to remove Soros-funded left-wing prosecutors and replace them with the complete opposite.
