Former President Donald Trump ripped former Rep Liz Cheney (R-Wyoming) for suffering from ‘TDS’ in a scathing post on Truth Social on Monday.
In her new book, Cheney claimed Trump was so depressed after losing the 2020 election, which resulted in him not eating properly.
However, Trump returned fire.
“Crazy Liz Cheney, who suffers from Trump Derangement Syndrome at a level rarely seen before, writes in her boring new book that Kevin McCarthy said he came to Mar-a-Lago after the RIGGED election because, ‘the former president was depressed and not eating,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“That statement is not true. I was not depressed, I was ANGRY, and it was not that I was not eating, it was that I was eating too much,” he wrote.
“But that’s not why Kevin McCarthy was there,” he continued.
“He was at Mar-a-Lago to get my support, and to bring the Republican Party together – Only good intentions.”
‘Liz Cheney, on the other hand, went on to lose her seat in Congress by the largest margin for a sitting Congressperson in the history of the U.S. She then worked with others on the J6 Committee to delete and destroy the evidence and findings of the committee,” he added.
Cheney, who claims to be a Conservative Republican, has come out in support of President Joe Biden, claiming without evidence that her former party under Trump is “sleepwalking into dictatorship.”
Earlier to reports from this year, Cheney’s new book appeared to be strategically times to harm Trump’s reelection chances.
The Washington Examiner reported:
“Set to be released just months before the 2024 primary and caucus season opens, the book, already titled Oath and Honor: A Memoir and a Warning, will describe the threat to U.S. democracy she saw in the riots and still in.”
Cheney is portrayed as a courageous whistleblower who took major risks in exposing Trum[‘s so-called role in attempting to challenge and hinder the Electoral College vote for President Joe Biden, according to the publisher Little, Brown, and Company.
The press release said:
“Cheney will explain why she decided to stand almost alone against her party; why she risked her career, her seat, and her position in leadership to do what she knew was right.”
“Liz Cheney sacrificed her seat in Congress to stand up for the Constitution, and thereby became a profile in courage for the nation. It is an honor for Little, Brown to publish this urgent, much-needed account,” noted Publisher Bruce Nichols.
Cheney added:
“The last two years have shown us once again that our constitutional republic is not self-sustaining. It survives only because of the courage and honor of individual Americans.”
“When history looks back on this time, each elected official will have to answer the questions: Did we do our duty? Were we faithful to our oath of office?”
The publisher noted further:
“OATH AND HONOR is a memoir of these dramatic, history-changing events, and an inspirational call to action.”
“It is a warning — at a moment when the threat has not passed — about the fragility of our constitutional republic and what is required to defend and sustain it. Cheney’s book will explain exactly what is at stake in 2024, and why no president who did what Donald Trump did can ever be given a second term.”
Earlier this month, Cheney claimed that if Trump wins and Republicans win a majority in Congress in the 2024 election, the United States will be under a significant threat.
“We are facing a situation with respect to the 2024 election where it’s an existential crisis, and we have to ensure that we don’t have a situation where an election that might be thrown into the House of Representatives is overseen by a Republican majority.”
