President Donald Trump called for New York Democrat Jamaal Bowman to be prosecuted after he pulled the fire alarm in the Cannon Congressional Office Building last week.
Bowman pulled the alarm in order to shut down Congress during a last-ditch spending vote.
During his rally, Trump stated:
“This is the crap, and then they’ll let him out because he’s a Democrat radical left lunatic, and he should be prosecuted the same exact way as the J6 people were prosecuted.”
Trump continued:
“Many of them have been treated more unfairly than anybody in the history of our country.”
“And I don’t know if I should be saying that because I don’t know what these people behind me say, but I’ll bet they agree with me,” he said.
“There’s never been anybody treated so unfairly, just about.”
“What they’ve done to the J6ers is terrible, and Bowman went, and he pulled an alarm, and you could add riots, you could add everything else, and he did it during a vote!” Trump continued.
“And he should be treated the same exact way,” Trump further urged.
“We’ll see what happens because a lot of people are saying, ‘What are you going to do about J6?'” Trump continued.
“I don’t think they’re going to be disappointed. I can tell you that.”

Echoing Trump, Marjorie Taylor Greene called for Bowman to be prosecuted for pulling the fire alarm using the same laws to lock up Jan 6 defendants.
“Democrat Rep. Jamaal Bowman pulled the fire alarm in the Cannon building this afternoon and interrupted the official proceedings of the House as Republicans worked to keep the government open,” Greene wrote on X.
“I’m calling on the DOJ to prosecute him using the same law they used to prosecute J6 defendants for interfering with an official proceeding.”
“The Democrats literally will do anything to shut OUR government down because billions aren’t going to their favorite country: Ukraine,” Greene added.

Donald Trump Jr also called for Bowman to face charges, writing on X:
“If they don’t charge Rep Bowman with a crime for endangering the lives of those in the capitol & obstructing congressional proceedings, then they better let every single J6er that’s rotting in prison for nonviolent offenses out with an apology & compensation right f***king now!”

After Bowman was caught on camera pulling the stunt in the Cannon Building, he responded by saying:
“I thought the alarm would open the door,” Bowman told reporters about the incident.
“I was rushing to make a vote, I was trying to get to a door,” he said.
“[Bowman] pulled a fire alarm in Cannon this morning,” a spokesperson for the Congressional Administration Committee said.
