Iran’s foreign minister issued an ominous warning to Israel following an attack on a hospital in Gaza amid growing concerns of World War III.
The chilling message was posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, by Hossein Amir-Abdallohian the day after a missile strike at a Gaza City hospital, which caused hundreds of deaths.
Amir-Abdollahian tweeted:
“After the terrible crime of the Zionist regime in the bombing and massacre of more than 1,000 innocent women and children in the hospital, the time has come for the global unity of humanity against this fake regime more hated than ISIS and its killing machine.”
“Time is OVER!” he warned.

The Iranian Embassy in Syria later tweeted, “Time is up” in both Hebrew and Arabic.

The worrying message came days after mir-Abdollahian warned that a regional network of militias dubbed the “axis of resistance” would open “multiple fronts” against Israel if it continued strikes against civilians in Gaza.
He said Wednesday morning:
“The time has come for the global unity of humanity against this fake regime more hated than ISIS and its killing machine.”
The sentiment was also echoed on the page for the Iranian Embassy in Syria.
“Time is running out very fast,” Amir-Abdollahian said during a live televised interview with Iranian state television Monday.
“If the war crimes against the Palestinians are not immediately stopped, other multiple fronts will open, and this is inevitable.”
The warning came just hours after Hamas accused Israel of killing more than 500 people at the
Al-Ahli Arab Hospital.
Israel has denied the attacks, saying the Palestinian Islamic Jihad militant group was responsible.
“An enemy rocket barrage was carried out towards Israel, which passed in the vicinity of the hospital when it was hit,” IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari said in a statement.
“According to intelligence information, from several sources we have, the GAP organization is responsible for the failed shooting that hit the hospital.”
However, Iran quickly condemned Israel for the attack, with Nasser Kan’ani, a spokesman for the country’s foreign ministry, describing it as a “savage war crime” and an instance of “genocide.”
In a statement, he accused Israel of carrying out a “bestial and appalling crime:”
“The Zionist regime of Israel once again revealed its savagery and inhumanity to the world and proved that it has no slightest adherence to the principles and rules of international law during times of war.”
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khameni later suggested Israeli officials “should be tried for their crimes.”
There are also concerns that Iran’s threats could eventually bring Russia into the conflict, in which a Third World War would likely begin.
A spokeswoman for Russia’s foreign ministry responded to the hospital attack, saying Israel must provide satellite images to prove it was not involved,
“So far, Russia and China have remained relatively restrained in their public statements, but if Iran gets directly involved, Russia is likely to feel compelled to support it due to Iran providing important missile and UAV supplies and training support to the Russian military in its war against Ukraine,” Justin Bronk, a senior research fellow at London’s Royal United Services Institute, explained in an essay for the Mail.
King Abdullah II of Jordan, a major US ally, has also said:
“This war, which has entered a dangerous phase, will plunge the region into an unspeakable disaster.”
At least 3,000 Palestinians and 1,400 Israelis have been killed since the war began.
