Sweden has pushed back against the globalists at The World Economic Forum (WEF) as the Swedish parliament went nuclear against its green agenda and “climate change” narrative.”
As Reuters reported on Tuesday, the Swedish parliament made a language change with major reverberations in the energy sector.
Parliament set the country’s goal to become “100% fossil-free” electricity, instead of “100% renewable” as a means to the growing demand for electric power it projects for 2040 and achieve its goal of net zero emissions by 2045.
“This creates the conditions for nuclear power,” Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson said.
“We need more electricity production, we need clean electricity, and we need a stable energy system,” she said.
Svantesson called wind and solar power too “unstable” and that “substantial industrialized economies” will require a “nuclear pathway in order to “remain industrialized and competitive.”
Net Zero Watch’s Energy Director, John Constable, said Sweden will “ground their economy in an energy source, nuclear, that is physically sound and secure, unlike renewables which are neither.”
He said Governments that fail to follow Sweden’s example will continue to “live in a fantasy” about meeting climate change goals, adding, “We are coming to the end of the green dream.”
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, “Environmental campaigners, including Greens MPs, have criticized the recent changes to Sweden’s energy policy, saying it clashes with the country’s previous identity as a climate leader.”
RedState reporter, Mike Miller, noted the decision Sweden made was a slap in the face for the likes of climate change czar John Kerry and Klaus Schwab of the World Economic Forum (WEF.)
“The decision is a major blow to unreliable and inefficient technology, not to mention the bitter climate gnome, Greta Thunberg, who continually warns mankind about the next climate armageddon that never comes,” Miller wrote.
“European countries are under constant pressure from multiple directions to shift to renewable energy to meet the goals of the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) green agenda. The WEF’s vision is being heavily pushed by the United Nations, the World Health Organization (WHO), Paris Climate Agreement, World Bank, and climate catastrophizer Joe Biden and his just-as-wacky administration,” Miller added.

The focus on nuclear power is part of a wider shift in environmental policy in a country that has long touted itself as a “green” champion.
The coalition plans to cut the bio-fuel mix in petrol and diesel, leading to bigger CO2 emissions, a move that could mean Sweden missing 2030 emissions goals.
Proposals by Sweden to allow countries to prolong subsidies for standby coal power plants have also met with concern in the EU, while Stockholm also wanted Brussels to water down a landmark law to restore deteriorating natural habitats.
At home, plans to simplify environmental permitting could speed up the build-out of wind power and allow miners to exploit large deposits of rare earth elements, crucial in electric motor production.
