Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said America is “lucky” it’s not currently experiencing a civil war after the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.
Kennedy posted a video to social media warning Americans of the political hostility spreading across the country.
“But, we are in a cold civil war and we need to stop our fighting,” RFK Jr. said.

“We need to stop the relentless bickering, the judging, the hating and extend to each other a new handshake and reconciliation.”
Kennedy added:
“If that assassin’s bullet on July 13 that Pennsylvania had found its mark, the cold civil war that we’re now immersed in could have gone hot.”
“Not only President Trump, but maybe even our entire republic had a close brush with death.”
He went on to remind viewers that their ancestors’ blood, sweat and tears were put into building the United States.
RFK also pointed out that no politician could accomplish this while running a divided nation, calling for unity among Americans.
Donald Trump Jr. said he loves the idea of RFK taking a role in his father’s government.

Kennedy is scheduled to make a national announcement on Friday.
